This piece represents the idea of “honey” as a conditioned nickname. At times it feels like the word honey is used by the patriarchy to keep women feeling small. They have been told that women are “honey” and should be treated as a condiment instead of an elixir for life. The Robot represents the people who have chosen to fall in line with the idea that women are less than. The circles represent how much that grinds my gears. Makes me feel uncomfortable. The system wants to take control of us but what they need to remember is that we are the beginning and the end. We are the circle of life, honey.
